PEJOURNAL – Perhaps the most pessimistic American politicians did not imagine that Biden would be subjected to the harshest attacks, even nine months after the 46th President of the United States came to power, and even warned of the danger of his impeachment.
Biden and his supporters, who during and after the election campaign incessantly blamed Trump for humiliating the United States on the world stage, and in a thunderous process, put all their grief and sorrow on reversing the actions of the former White House resident, were able to cotton all his achievements.
But suddenly both the Democratic and Republican parties took a completely different approach to Afghanistan and, regardless of the views of experts on both sides, rushed out of the country in a way that according to official statistics 200 and unofficial estimates some 9,000 Afghan nationals were left behind at Kabul airport to face their fate alone under Taliban rule.
Perhaps it can be said that this awfulness alone is enough to interrogate and remove the “sleepy atmosphere” that has become even sleepier.
The strange speed of leaving Afghanistan caused the Taliban to conquer the whole of Afghanistan in just a few days and to size weapons, including Black Hawk helicopters, planes, and Humvee armored vehicles, worth more than $ 82 billion. Weapons that could be used against US troops in the Middle East in the not-too-distant future.
The tragedy does not end here. For an American, nothing can show the depth of a president’s humiliation more than security from a terrorist group.
The incident has further angered US public opinion, with US officials, including Secretary of State Blinken, announcing that the Taliban would guarantee security at and around the airport. In just nine months, the Biden administration has struck so much at the hegemony and prestige of the United States that it is unmatched by any other contemporary president.
An American wonders how it is possible for the US government to set a $ 5 million reward for the head of a terrorist named Sirajuddin Haqqani collaborating with al-Qaeda while simultaneously guaranteeing the Haqqani network that secures Kabul and its suburbs.
Negotiating and agreeing with terrorists is a taboo that will undoubtedly break Biden. The pride of the American people was wounded when 13 Marines were killed in an explosion near the Kabul airport. The Americans are unlikely to tolerate a president who gets bored and checks his watch during the arrival of the coffins of 13 soldiers killed.
But the White House’s foreign policy scandals do not end there. The current administration’s blow to the trust of US partners around the world is exemplary. Leaving Afghanistan now would raise ambiguity and suspicion for countries such as Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the UAE, Bahrain, Japan, South Korea, Europe, and all the US allies that there is a guarantee the Americans would not withdraw their forces stationed on their soil in the blink of an eye and do not leave these countries alone against Russia, China, Iran and North Korea.
Such concerns will in the near future lead to their inevitable inclination towards America’s fierce rivals, China and Russia, which have not only made significant military progress in recent years but are also practically at the heart of the Asian and European (Euroasia) region but also, geopolitically, will be the most important global security burden.
If that happens, not only will the United States no longer be able to exercise power in the waters of eastern and southern China, but security and even the existence of independent Taiwan will be in serious jeopardy. The domino effect of these events will certainly extend to Europe, and countries like Germany, which in the post-World War II years have always relied on the United States for their security against threats from the Soviet Union and later Russia, will seek a more secure partner than the United States.
Even now, however, with the Biden administration surrendering to the Nord Stream 2 pipeline, which was initiated by a very weak foreign minister like Blinken, Germany, and Europe in general no longer have much confidence in the United States.
Another axis that will probably be one of the clauses of Biden’s impeachment is the failure to conclude JCPOA negotiations with Iran. Biden, who thought that by appointing people like Robert Malley to the State Department and giving him the helm of the negotiations could easily break the ice of negotiations with Iran and bring this issue to an end, now faces a very complicated situation in which Iran is accelerating its enrichment rate and percentage, even under IAEA oversight.
In fact, Iran achieving the ability to enrich 60% and produce metallic uranium has given the country a very high bargaining power that is not comparable to the past, and this has complicated Biden’s situation.
Such an issue could lead to a possible agreement of right-wing Democrats, such as Senator Menendez, the influential chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee with the president’s impeachment.
On the other hand, the Republican senators with a background like Lindsay Graham, who happens to have a long history of friendship with Biden, are also strongly pursuing efforts to impeach Biden in the House of Representatives, which could increase the possibility of its occurrence in the near future. What is very interesting is the many requests from the people who have flocked to the representatives of the American people in Congress, who want to heal the wound that Biden and his associates have inflicted on the pride of the Americans.
Finally, given the scandal of Biden and his team in the catastrophic departure from Afghanistan, the trust in the terrorists of the Haqqani network, the responsibility for the killing of 13 American soldiers and more than 200 Afghan citizens with dual citizenship, creating distrust in allies and partners and failure to conclude the JCPOA talks, the 46th president of the United States will not be far from impeachment.
Even if Biden is not impeached, he will continue to serve as president, a showman who can stay in the White House without any achievement, only with the complexities of the US Constitution regarding the removal of the president; and he is leading an American that is further fueling ideological differences in Congress and further eroding its political system.
If the Biden administration continues to act in the same way and with confusion, the lack of strategic plans to maintain American power will lead to growing disorder even in the existing world order. If there is a vacancy in American power in the world order, activists will use their power to achieve their goals, exacerbating the instability of change or political passivity in the United States.
The United States must strive to keep the twentieth century the century of the United States, and not let the wrong decisions of American governments over the past two decades about futile wars affect American destiny. American power is declining with war, but it is certain that by negotiating and sharing interests fairly with actors, rivals, and enemies, it can restore power to the United States. It is well-understood by all countries of the world that they enjoy more from American power than the decline of the United States, now it is up to the United States to decide on more deterioration or more power.
