PEJOURNAL – Lebanese Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, spoke to Al-Mayadin News TV on Sunday night, commenting on various issues, including the martyrdom of General Soleimani, developments in the region and the internal situation in Lebanon.
The Secretary General of Hezbollah in Lebanon talked to Al-Mayadin News Network on Sunday night about various issues, including the martyrdom of General Qasem Soleimani and Abu Mahdi Al-Mohandes, and the axis of resistance and developments in the region. At the beginning of this interview, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah congratulated all Christians in Lebanon and the world on the birth of Jesus Christ and the New Year.
The Secretary General of Hezbollah in Lebanon also expressed his condolences on the anniversary of the martyrdom of General Qasem Soleimani and Abu Mahdi al-Mohandes, the former deputy head of the Iraqi Popular Hashd al-Shaabi Organization.
Trump’s possible steps in the last days of his presidency
Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah continued: “There is no exact information that Trump or the Israeli enemy will take action, but there are some analyzes in this regard.” Everyone is waiting to see what Trump will do in the coming days. He added: “Nothing can be expected from a person like Trump who has his own madness and while he is angry. Everything Trump may do in the last days of his presidency is still under analysis. The remaining term of Trump’s presidency must be handled with caution. Hezbollah’s secretary general said: “When you hear that the Israelis are causing controversy in the media, know that there is no real action behind it.
Targeting Hezbollah leaders is a common goal of the United States and Israel
Hassan Nasrallah said that targeting Hezbollah leaders was a joint goal of Israel and the United States, adding: “Our information indicates that Saudi Arabia has been encouraging my assassination for a long time, at least since the beginning of the Yemeni war.” Saudi Arabia has acted maliciously, not wisely, especially in recent years. Some sources told me that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman had called for my assassination during his first visit to Washington and meeting with Trump. The sources said that Saudi Arabia had borne all the financial costs of the outbreak of the war after my assassination. The Americans agreed to the Saudi request for my assassination so that Israel could carry it out.
The participation of the United States, Israel and Saudi Arabia in the assassination of Martyr Soleimani and Abu Mahdi
Hezbollah Secretary General continued: The United States, Israel and Saudi Arabia are complicit in the assassination of Martyr Soleimani and Abu Mahdi al-Mohandes. The assassination of these two martyrs, unlike the assassination of Mughniyeh and Fakhri Zadeh, took place openly. Martyr Soleimani had a charismatic personality and had a great power of influence and was a distinct human personality. Martyr Soleimani was a man of strategic and planning actions and at the same time a man of field and tactics.
Characteristics of Martyr Soleimani and Abu Mahdi
Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah said: Martyr Soleimani was a strategic commander militarily and at the same time a tactical leader. At the time before Haj Qasem’s martyrdom, I was very worried and warned him many times about this. I miss Haj Qasem very much, we worked together many times and faced challenges. I felt that Haj Qasim and I were one.
Hezbollah Secretary General continued: Haj Abu Mahdi al-Mohandes was a great figure and should be recognized in a more formal way. He was a prominent figure in Iraq, but he was always keen on the field. God ended the martyrdom of Haj Qasem and Abu Mahdi.
Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, stating that the Americans left Iraq against their will and as a result of the blows of resistance, emphasized: The martyr Abu Mahdi al-Mohandes was a key partner in the victory against the American occupiers and ISIS. The Americans left Iraq under fire until they reached out to Martyr Soleimani to stop the Iraqi resistance operation against them.
Hezbollah Secretary General added: Martyr Al-Mohandes was one of the leaders of the resistance in Iraq and all issues in the region. Martyr Soleimani developed a relationship with the Palestinian resistance groups despite all their differences of approach. Martyr Soleimani had no red line for logistical support to Palestinian groups. He was involved in delivering Cornet missiles to the Palestinian resistance in Gaza. The Cornet missiles we used in the July war were bought by the Syrians from Russia, and then we got them. Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has agreed to deliver Cornet missiles to Hamas and Islamic Jihad in Gaza, which Damascus bought from Russia.
Martyr Soleimani and Palestine
Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah stated: Martyr Soleimani and his group did not spare anything in support of Palestine at all levels. Syrian President Bashar al-Assad understood our relationship with Hamas after the Syrian crisis.
Hezbollah’s secretary general said: “I was not surprised by the humiliation of the Arab countries because most of the Arab regimes only supported the Palestinians in words. We look at compromise agreements from the perspective that the stage of hypocrisy is over and the masks have been removed and the truth of these regimes has been clarified.
Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah continued: “Iran is an excuse for the Arab regimes that signed compromise agreements because they see the Palestinian cause as a burden.” Nothing in the world justifies giving up Palestine.
Hezbollah’s secretary general added: “The power-based resistance is much more than in previous years, but management is important. The Palestinians on the borders of 1948 are our brothers and family and are among those who have the greatest desire for the liberation of Palestine from the sea to the creek. In any future war, the minds and hearts of the Palestinians will be with us on the 1948 borders.
Meeting with Ismail Haniyeh and the relationship between Hamas and Syria
Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, referring to several meetings with Ismail Haniyeh, the head of the Hamas political bureau, during his recent visit to Lebanon, said: “I met with Ismail Haniyeh’s brother several times during his recent visit to Lebanon and discussed various issues in the region, including bilateral relations.” We talked to Syria.
Hezbollah’s secretary general continued: “The relationship between Hamas and Syria must be organized and there is a positive atmosphere in this regard, although this issue needs time. I think Hamas’ approach is to organize its relations with Damascus on the basis of logic. We spoke with Brother Haniyeh about the fact that the Hamas movement should help reform the region’s approaches, including the Yemeni Reform Party’s fight against the Ansarullah movement.
Morocco compromise with the Zionist regime
Regarding the Morocco compromise with the Zionist regime, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah also said: “The position of the Morocco Justice and Development Party is more painful and dangerous than the compromise of the Arab regimes.”
Military exercise of Palestinian groups in Gaza
The secretary general of Hezbollah in Lebanon called the military exercise between the resistance groups in Gaza a very important step that shows power and frightens the enemy.
Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah continued: “The presence of Martyr Qasem Soleimani in the media began after the battle with ISIS in Iraq, and this was not intentional.” The efforts of Hajj Qasem and the Quds Force to support Palestinian resistance groups were carried out away from the media. Haj Qasem did not seek to be in the media, to appear in the news and to be praised.
Hezbollah’s secretary general continued: “Haj Qasem’s relationship with the religious authority in Iraq was good, especially in the main issues.” Most of the military operations against the American occupiers in Iraq were carried out by resistance groups. Young groups without political cover began armed resistance against US forces in Iraq. Arab satellite channels refused to broadcast videos of the Iraqi resistance operation against the American occupiers. The resistance in Iraq had the real support of the Quds Force and Haj Qasem Soleimani.
Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah added: “4800 suicide operations were carried out by al-Qaeda against the Iraqis, but the resistance operations were carried out accurately and to put pressure on the occupiers.” The U.S. military has threatened to bomb Haj Qasem and the Quds Force if they continue to support the Iraqi resistance. The US military sent a letter to Haj Qasem to help Americans withdraw from Iraq without endangering their forces.
Hezbollah’s secretary general continued: “Trump has kept American troops in Iraq and Syria to plunder oil and wealth.” In the axis of resistance, we are legitimately defending ourselves, that is, our country, our sanctuaries, our nation and our wealth. If it were not for the Iraqi resistance, it would be the US embassy that would run Iraq. The Axis of Resistance has achieved great victories and is stronger than ever without any exaggeration. The axis of resistance digested the martyrdom of Haj Qasem Soleimani, despite the fact that it was very difficult.
Attack on Ayn al-Assad base was a historic slap / emphasis on punishing the killers of Martyr Soleimani and Abu Mahdi
Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah said: “The attack on the Ayn al-Assad base was an important reaction that showed how the leader of a country in the world slaps the United States.” The attack on Ayn al-Assad was a historic slap in the face because the equation is not to leave the dead in the face of the Americans. Washington thought that by assassinating the leaders, it would end the axis of resistance, while the truth is that the axis of resistance is not based on the individual.
The retribution of the killers of Martyr Soleimani and Abu Mahdi al-Mohandes is the goal of every honorable person, and the perpetrators and perpetrators of this act, wherever they are, must be punished. The Secretary General of Hezbollah continued: “What the whole world should know is that the blood of the leaders will not be trampled and the killers of Haj Qasem and Abu Mahdi must be punished sooner or later.”
Developments and the Syrian crisis
Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah said: Martyr Soleimani was worried about the Americans’ attempt to ride the wave of nations on the intifada to target some systems. Martyr Soleimani was the first to realize the danger against Syria because of his support for the resistance under the pretext of the Arab Spring. The sponsoring parties and the real commander of the opposition groups in Syria quickly turned to armed conflict.
With the agreement of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, the opposition parties were contacted to resolve the crisis politically, but everyone said that we are not in a position to find a political solution and negotiate with the regime, and that the Syrian government will fall in a few days.
Hezbollah’s secretary general continued: “There was a very serious decision by the countries of the region and the international community in the war against Syria to prevent any political solution to the crisis.” Foreign parties supporting the Syrian opposition had concluded that the Syrian regime would fall within two months. They wanted to turn Syria into a weak and fragile system that, in addition to compromising with Israel and recognizing it, needs those who brought it to power.
Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah added: “We did not have two options, the first is the surrender and fall of the region and the other was resistance and stability, and we chose the option of resistance.” The distinguishing feature of Syria is its independence in decision-making and the courage of its leaders, and its non-obedience to enemies.
Syria was targeted not only for Palestine and the resistance, but also for the occupation, looting and plunder of its oil and gas. Syrian President Bashar al-Assad’s decision to maintain stability was the main motivation of the allies to support Damascus and enter into conflict with him. Bashar al-Assad did not leave Damascus at all during the battle and in the most difficult stages of the war, and he was strong and solid.
Hezbollah Secretary General described Russia’s military involvement in the Syrian war as very effective and said: “President Putin was hesitant to enter Syria at first, then Haj Qasem went to Russia and explained the situation on the map, and in that meeting, Putin told Haj Qasem that he was convinced to enter Syria. Haj Qasem, with his charismatic personality and strong logic and strategic explanations, played a role in convincing Putin to enter Syria on the basis of logic and developments.
Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah added: Martyr Soleimani did not leave the southern suburbs of Beirut during the July war (Tamooz), except for 48 hours to report on the situation and contact the brothers in Syria and Iran. Israeli airstrikes during the July war could not prevent logistical support for the resistance.
Martyr Soleimani played a role and was responsible for pursuing the plan to resettle refugees after the July war. Some Lebanese politicians tried to keep the people on the streets for a longer period of time after the July war to stage a coup against the resistance. Haj Ismail Qaani was aware of all the cases when he was Haj Qasem’s deputy, and Haj Qasem said that Haj Ismail Qaani would be his successor.
Hezbollah’s response to the martyrdom of its soldier in Syria is definite
Hezbollah’s secretary general said: “The situation of Hezbollah and its power, spirit and will is very good.” What you hear from the enemy’s threats is because he knows that we will respond to the murder of our martyr in Syria. We are still living up to our promise of a response to the Israeli enemy targeting Martyr Ali Mohsen in Syria.
The resistance was ready at all levels and in front of the eyes of Israel. The flight of Israeli drones in the sky has been severely disrupted due to fear of a resistance reaction. Israel knows that we used appropriate weapons against its drones, although this has not been made public. The number of precision air missiles has doubled in the past year. Today’s resistance is good and strong, and we are confident of the future and victory.
He added: “It is Israel that is concerned, not the resistance, especially that Trump is leaving and that Washington may return to the nuclear deal.”
Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah continued: “We have shown a certain amount of air defense against the enemy, but we do not announce whether it has a higher level or not, and we do not want Israel to know more about its resistance.” The resistance has things that Israel does not know about. Our axis has the upper hand, and Israel is in crisis. Our decision is to react appropriately, which strengthens deterrence and involves targeting enemy troops. We do not need dramatic action at the borders, but our reaction will be real.
Lebanon’s internal situation and negotiations on the demarcation of maritime borders
Hezbollah’s secretary general also said about the negotiations on the demarcation of the maritime borders between Lebanon and the Zionist regime: “The negotiations on the demarcation of the maritime borders will not come to fruition with the current US administration.” Our right to prevent the theft of Israel in our waters is natural, and our ability to do so is unquestionable.
Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah also stated about the internal situation in Lebanon: “There is a positive atmosphere and cooperation between us and Lebanese Prime Minister Saad al-Hariri.” It is the problem of mistrust that has delayed the formation of the government, and it is fundamentally between President Michel Aoun and Al-Hariri.
Hezbollah’s secretary general added: “Resistance is not difficult for the people of southern Lebanon, but it is a defensive shield for them.” We are trying to help the Lebanese in any way we can. The problem of Lebanon is the problem of alternatives because no one dared to look east to find a solution.
Iran is a regional power
In another part of his speech, he said: “Iran is a major regional power and a major axis in the region and does not speak on behalf of any of its allies in the region.” Iran does not trade in various cases and does not negotiate with the Americans on behalf of the nations of the region. As Iran told the Europeans, negotiation on behalf of the Yemenis or others in the region is not about it.
Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah continued: “When Washington insisted on sitting at the negotiating table with Tehran to review the Iraq case, Iran emphasized the presence of Iraqis and the openness of the negotiations.”
